What is a DSP?

A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a trained caregiver who provides assistance and support to individuals who require help with daily living tasks, such as those with disabilities or those who are aging. DSPs help their clients with activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other daily tasks, and may also provide emotional support, companionship, and assistance with community integration. They work in a variety of settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. Check out our Medium article called, “What is a DSP?”.

When supporting people, their needs could change by the hour and your skills are needed to support them in your car, community, or in their home.

With ridesharing, passengers and in and out of your car while you drive them around.  In some cases with delivery, you can use and mode of transportation: your car (two doors), bicycle, or motorcycle.

With delivery, you are more active than ridesharing, as you get in/out of your car/bike/motorcycle to pick up and deliver the food.
